District Counseling Mission Statement
The mission of the RSU #22 school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. School counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. School counselors strive to provide every student with a developmentally appropriate and proactive program to help them achieve success in their academic, career, and personal/social endeavors. In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians and the community, school counselors facilitate the support system to ensure all students in RSU #22 have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level a productive members of society.
The philosophy of the RSU 22 school counseling team is that all students, when given the correct supports and opportunity, can achieve individual excellence. School counselors believe that all students are unique and can benefit from a comprehensive school counseling program that allows for uniqueness while assisting students in meeting individualized goals. School counselors believe that when students are given the proper resources they can develop into self-reliant, creative and responsible citizens.
